Hongdandan Exchange Centre is a charity striving to provide accessible product and services for the visually impaired public. With a mission statement “See The World With You”, Hongdandan is the among China’s first to provide a radio programme (Heart Radio), a dedicated Heart Cinema, a Heart Library , a Heart Drama Workshop and Sports Meetings by the blind, for the blind and supported by volunteers.

 

Hongdandan is dedicated to help the blind to have access to basic cultural life and improve their living condition. Up to now, thousands of people benefit from this programme.


Miss. ZENGXin serves as the vice manager of Beijing Hongdandan Exchange Centre. Miss Zeng herself is visually impaired. Her heart is so close to the impaired public that she would be delighted to share whatever she could see with those who can’t see anything. Miss Zeng joined Hongdandan in 2005 and worked in the three years that followed as an unpaid volunteer. She has grown from a volunteer to a professional who is able to lead the execution of large scale project management and administrative work. Miss Zeng also led the efforts of publication of booklets including “Citizenship Awareness for the Disabled” “Helping manual for the visual impaired ”; she is also directly involved in the initiation and maintenance of the Heart Library, Heart Cinema and Heart Radio.
